Michelle will be at the bar selling and signing copies of her new book, which chronicles the remarkable career of legendary Stanford Women’s Basketball head coach Tara VanDerveer—a program Michelle covered closely for decades.

Michelle Smith has covered women’s basketball nationally for more than 30 years. In 2025, she was honored with the Curt Gowdy Print Media Award and inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. She is also a 2024 inductee into the U.S. Basketball Writers Hall of Fame and has written for ESPN.com, The Athletic, the San Francisco Chronicle, Pac-12.com, and WNBA.com. Her many accolades include the Jake Wade Media Award (2017) and the Mel Greenberg Media Award (2019).
